Could You "Do Boudoir?" 5 Common Fears
Tatiana Von Tauber - 8/31/09

Five Fears Women have about Boudoir Photography

1. “I’m too fat.” Actually, a woman is herself and the sooner she begins to love her body for the shape it takes the more empowered she’ll feel. I’ve photographed Twiggy models and listened to them complain they’re “fat”. It’s subjective. Larger women can be sexy too!  Just view my "erotic/boudoir" portfolio!

2. “Isn’t that like porn?” If porn is defined as an image of sensuality, eroticism and beauty, then I suppose it is. Otherwise, no it’s nothing like porn. Boudoir is erotic art.

3. “It's dirty”. This philosophy has been entrenched into women for millennia. Women are in a new era. Sexual empowerment begins with getting over the idea that eroticism and nudity equal shame and embarrassment. The female form should be celebrated.  Confidence begins with self-love and loving thy body must be included for optimal confidence.

4. “I don’t think I could do that!” It’s not about if one thinks she can or cannot. The question is, does she desire to? If so, she can. Boudoir photo sessions are transforming and empowering and the right photographer makes a huge difference in making that happen.

5. “If I don’t look good in regular pictures, I’d look horrible in boudoir!” A professional make up artist, flattering body positioning, comfortable envirnoment, subtle hiding of disliked body parts, proper lighting and an experienced photographer can make anyone can look beautiful in pictures.
